Travel insurance
General tips:
- Always take out insurance before travelling.
- Find a policy which suits your needs and takes into account the countries you are
travelling in, and the types of activities in which you will engage. Alpha Travel has
already done much of this work for you and recommends
Jetset Travellers Assistance or HBF Travel insurance as the most
comprehensive travel insurance policies.
- Pay close attention to clauses relating to accidents and medical cover.
- Take two copies of your policy with you, as proof that you are insured. Keep them in
separate places in the event that one is lost or stolen.
- Write the name and telephone number of a trusted friend or family member on the copies
of your policy - if you are incapacitated, a hospital may need to contact someone at home
on your behalf.
