Europe’s Rivers, Alps and Lakes |
This 23 day tour departs on 24th May 2010, visiting some of the most beautiful areas of Europe. The first 3 days of the tour are in Vienna, with a city tour and visit to Schonbrunn Palace included. The highlight in Vienna is a concert in a Viennese concert hall, where a costumed orchestra performs arias composed by Mozart and Strauss – superb! From Vienna, you visit Cesky Krumlov – one of the most wonderful medieval cities in Europe. Overnight here and then onto Prague for two days. From Prague we board our River Cruise vessel – Avalon’s“Tranquility” for a relaxing 7 day cruise to Trier. Visit such places as Wurzburg, the Rhine Gorge, and Koblenz - this is a truly delightful river cruise. From Trier you are transferred to the romantic city of Paris for 2 days of sightseeing, and some free time to discover this famous city. The TGV train will be your mode of transport to Lyon, where once again you have 2 nights. The next stop is Zermatt in Switzerland where you stay overnight before boarding the “Glacier Express” train to Chur. Admire thundering waterfalls, impressive peaks and tiny villages as you pass the Alpine scenery. The last stop on this memorable tour is Lake Como, where you will enjoy a unique lunch at a local restaurant on an island in the middle of the lake.
